It was the Summer of '69

the hot summer sun is really intense today:

which got me thinking about the good luck that comes with central air-conditioning. summers in kansas were really hot growing up, and i spent much of the day outside at camp, dissolving into a puddle:

but then i'd go home, and before my parents got there, i could strip down to my swim suit, crank up the a/c and get really cold:

so cold in fact, that i would need to get a couple of heavy blankets to wrap around myself:

and that's how my parents would find me. bundled up, blasting a/c and eating ice cream:

if only i had central air conditioning here! then i could REALLY contribute to global warming.

It's a Palindrome

today when i got to work, i noticed bird poop on my hand:

that's good luck, right? right?!

Up, up and away!

what's luckier than helium balloons?!

nothing! but i heard some tragic news. apparently, helium is a non-renewable resource:

once it's gone, it's gone forever:

we could be on our last joyous, bouncy, sea turtle-killing balloons as we speak:

but there's good news, as well! i ALSO heard that the u.s. controls over 70% of the helium on the planet:

 

so we'll have all of the balloons left to be had right here in the us of a:

 

...oops.

Dream Post 3

i can't believe it, out of nowhere, c.b. proposed to me! i didn't even realize how important it was to to me until the very moment he got down on one knee and:

best of all, he gave me a ring with no stone in it, because he knows i'm not a fan of diamonds:

so considerate! i went through all of the possibilities:

unfortunately, when we told our families, and they huddled around us in one big group, his mom insisted that i take a ring that was a family heirloom:

not my taste at all! plus, it was too small and squeezed my fatty little finger. but what could i do? i had to wear it. but then, something miraculous happened:

i woke up! yep! lucky for me it was all a dream. just like that tv show dallas that everyone is always talking about and watches still. and now i know how important jewelry is to my subconscious. sparkly!

Goodbye, Dolly!

jayanna's dog, dolly parton, is an asshole:

she keeps waking jayanna up at 4 or 4:30 in the morning, like clockwork, no matter how late she went out the night before:

but i think i fixed the problem, with my new invention! see, we're pretty sure it's the early sunrise that's getting dolly all hot and bothered:

Breaking the Sound Barrier

bad luck: i misplaced my headphones. so, in order to block outside noise:

i got some new ones. and as luck would have it, there was an extra little earpiece in there!

maybe you can tell from the "photos" on this blog, but i have tiny ears:

having an extra little earpiece means that i can lose one in my ear and shove another one right on top of it. everything's coming up erin!
