finally! a holiday that's only about eating:

the only bummer is that i was hoping it would snow so that i could roll out my thanksgiving snowstorm name:

i used to have a spork:

but it wasn't just ANY spork, it was a metal, reusable spork:

and i loved it:

i used it for cereal:

i used it for grapefruit:

i used it for pasta:

and for poking people in the eye:

BUT SOMEONE STOLE IT*

and now i have to use a spoon:

or a fork:

like a chump. 

*or i misplaced it. but i think we already covered that i don't lose things, so that couldn't be it....

iThing Lost

i've actually been really lucky that in all of my travels, i haven't really lost anything.*

so when i got to the airport for an early morning flight recently, imagine my dismay when i realized i'd left my ipad in the hotel:

i knew exactly where, even, but obviously i couldn't go back to there and get it:

i called, they said they would have the housekeeper look out for it, which i'm pretty sure means sell on ebay:

but--miracle of miracles--they mailed it back to me!

and it only cost $45 via ups. expensive toy saved!

sore throat

i have a sore throat:

i'm probably dying. which is too bad since today is halloween:

maybe the guy attacking my throat will kill me, and i'll come back as a ghost? at least that way i won't get sick from eating too much candy....

Freeze Right There!

c.b. and i may have a palatial estate, but because of some low-hanging cabinetry, we have what is practically a dorm-sized refrigerator:

the fridge part is large enough, but the freezer can't possibly accommodate my hoarding needs:

so i thought we should get a small supplemental freezer to take care of any overflow:

c.b. thought, we may as well get a good-sized freezer, since we're getting something anyway:

and since some of the giant freezers were actually less expensive and much better rated than the good-sized ones, i decided to go all out. now we have a giant freezer:

let the hoarding begin!*

Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes

i don't waste my time matching socks, and luckily, as long as they are about the same thickness and shape, i don't notice the small differences:

but for some reason i'm noticing a very disturbing trend recently:

it doesn't seem to matter what shoes i'm wearing, either:

always on the right foot, which doesn't make sense because ever since my toe surgery, it's been my smaller foot:

 it's an unsolved mystery. the most annoying kind of mystery!
